Fishing Report - 9 May

As we move into winter the water is still feeling like summer with tropical visitors being caught both inshore and offshore. Big marlin and dollies are still on the chew with surprise catches of spangled emperor and small GTs appearing in and around the harbour.

Offshore

The warmer water is still lingering offshore with plenty of bait and big fish on offer. The team here from Fishing Station managed to wrangle some good fish before the rain hit last week!

Pittwater and Surrounds

Been a number of big flathead being caught in the Hawkesbury whilst targeting jewfish. A few jewfish being caught using tailor fillets and squid baits around the usual spots like Flint and Steel and Juno point.

The pelagics in Pittwater have settled slightly with less bust ups. Cooler water fish are starting to move in like trevally but there are still some big kings lurking about with the odd little soapy jewfish being caught on plastics after all the rain. Big bream have been quite aggressive taking a range of baits. Great fun for the kids off the local wharves.

Sydney Harbour - Craig McGill

Autumn is the best time of year on the harbour . Everything is on the chew, jewies, kings, big flathead , huge tailor and bonito and the southern calamari are going nuts.
