Fishing Station is looking for experienced, motivated and knowledgeable Retail Sales Assistants to join our team.

We are looking for people who can confidently engage with customers, understand fishing tackle, recommend the right products and contribute to a high standard of service and sales.

Fishing Station is one of Sydney’s leading independent specialist fishing tackle retailers. Our customers rely on us for genuine advice, strong product knowledge and practical fishing experience, so we are looking for staff who can represent that standard.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Providing knowledgeable, confident and professional customer service
• Actively assisting customers and identifying the right products for their needs
• Recommending rods, reels, lures, terminal tackle and other fishing equipment
• Building customer trust through genuine fishing knowledge and experience
• Driving sales and contributing to store performance
• Operating POS systems and processing transactions
• Merchandising, restocking and maintaining store presentation
• Receiving and processing deliveries
• Picking and packing online orders when required
• Maintaining strong product knowledge across our key brands and categories
• Supporting the wider team during busy weekends, holidays and promotional periods

Who We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in applicants who:

• Have strong practical fishing knowledge
• Regularly fish and understand tackle, techniques and local species
• Are confident speaking with customers and making product recommendations
• Have a genuine ability to sell, rather than simply process transactions
• Are motivated, reliable and professional
• Take initiative and can work effectively without constant supervision
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment
• Are willing to continue learning and improving their product knowledge
• Understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service

Knowledge of fishing around Sydney, including estuary, rock, beach, offshore or sportfishing techniques, will be highly regarded.

Applicants must have strong availability throughout the summer period, including:

• Weekends
• School holidays
• Christmas and New Year trading periods
• Public holidays where required
