    Fishing Report Friday 21 August

The fishing has been awesome the past couple of weeks with bluefin and yellowfin tuna still being caught off Sydney with trolling providing the best results. The harbour is fishing well for big winter kings and the luderick have come on the bite in the upper reaches. Pittwater is full of feeding salmon. They are a little lure-shy so best to use smaller metals/jigs to get the bite. Beaches are slowed a little but the rocks are producing good numbers of rock blackfish (drummer)

Winter has been producing the goods! The weather has been fantastic, and the fishing has been just as good. The Hawkesbury is producing big flathead and jewfish, while Pittwater has seen solid numbers of hairtail, estuary perch and, yes, even speedsters like bonito and mac tuna. Kingfish are still biting in Sydney Harbour, although they're becoming a little harder to find. Our beaches are also fishing well, with quality bream, whiting and Aussie salmon all being caught.

    Fishing Report May 29

Weather has been pretty average with rain and wind. The swell has been up but the fish are still biting. The water is dirty in Pittwater and the Harbour but the kings are still around with trevally moving in. The beaches are churned up from the swell but there are some good gutters around so it's well worth fish as there are some XL size tailor in the deeper gutters.

Local Fishing Report - 15 May

Winter is fast approaching in Sydney, but the fishing is still firing across the harbour, Pittwater, and the Hawkesbury. Cooler water temperatures haven’t slowed the action, with solid numbers of kingfish, jewfish, and large squid still being caught. While surface activity has eased in Pittwater and the Hawkesbury, consistent hairtail and jewfish bites are keeping anglers busy. Meanwhile, Sydney’s local beaches are producing exceptional whiting fishing, with fish up to 40cm being landed regularly.

As we reach the last month of autumn there is still a trickle of summer fish being caught but have definitely slowed down. That being said there are still plenty of fish of offer for both the shore based and boat based anglers.

Sydney, in particular, the Hawkesbury has seen large numbers of hairtail being caught on lure and bait. These gnarly looking creatures are very sporadic so it's cool to see them in local waters! Large kings are still hanging around the harbour and the beaches are producing plenty of tasty whiting.

After the recent wind and rain it's churned up our waterways and for the better. The beaches have some great gutters, the fish on our inshore reefs are feasting on all the broken shellfish and urchins from the recent swells and toothy critters like hairtail are visiting the estuaries.

Fishing Report - Friday 20 March

The water temp around Sydney is very warm and with it there are plenty of fish feeding and visiting Sydney from more tropical waters with a very rare and unique catch of a juvenile tiger shark caught in Watson's Bay in Sydney Harbour! The speedsters like bonito are still feeding on the surface, the beaches are loaded with small dusky whaler sharks and kingfish are still abundant.
