Born out of the tough fishing conditions on the West coast of Australia the Ikipik is the brainchild of creator Matt Durell. 

Matt saw the need for a versatile, easy-to-use Iki jime spike that was tough enough to handle being used by fishermen on a daily basis, and thus the Ikipik was born.
