It's nice to see the sun! With all the weeks of rain it's great to have some dry weather and fortunately the fish are still on the bite and as we move into spring the fishing will only get better.
South West Rocks - Vic Levett
Rain and East swells are not a good combination for the Macleay river. We have still managed to sneak out when possible and have found plenty of Snapper, Kingfish and Pearl Perch on the deeper reefs away from the flood waters. Looks like another week of large swells though.

Sydney Harbour - Craig McGill
Blackfish have been abundant on all the lower harbour spots . They are eating cabbage weed which is thick on the ocean rocks ATM. Salmon are also still in huge numbers but have broken up into smaller schools. Look for the birds .

Sydney Harbour - Offshore - Stuart Reid
Just for a change the weathers been rough! If you can get out from the swell and wind the kings are good but there are big pods of dolphins making catching slimies hard. Harbour is filthy and full of debris so drive with caution.

Pittwater
The water clarity is still poor in Pittwater from the recent heavy rains. Big schools of salmon have moved in busting up on the surface between Palm Beach and The Basin. Look for the birds diving. Trevally are plentiful around the local wharves and moorings. Use berley to attract the fish and they are taking a variety of baits from prawns to squid. Some fish are reaching 40cm or so which is awesome fun on light gear and good fun for the kids to catch too!

Rock and Beach - Fishing Station
The beaches have had a big churn from the recent run of swell which has resulted in some good gutters along most of the beaches between Palm Beach and Manly. Fishing the higher tides has resulted in big catch of salmon and after dark there have been some big tailor lurking. Yellowtail and pilchards being the best baits. Whiting are still a little way off, moving in spring they'll start arrive on our beaches. The rocks have been producing big, healthy schools of luderick. The rock blackfish (drummer) have been taking prawn baits across most rock shelves. They love the dirty, churned water.
A reminder - Always check the weather report before fishing the ocean rocks and stay safe. All beaches in the Northern Beaches are required to wear a lifejacket when fishing.
