The rain hasn't stopped over the past couple of weeks but with the rare window of opportunity the team have been finding some good kings offshore. Inshore the local guides have been catching a range of fish from speeders like mac tuna to the humble luderick.
Sydney Offshore - Fishing Station
Plenty of kings offshore and snapper inshore, some tuna still around but better reports south. Livies and jigs working, plenty of slimeys off pittwater and Sydney harbour. The fat winter kings offshore have been very susceptible to water temperature changes. That 18 degree range is producing the bite!

Luderick have been on fire this week in the lower reaches. There is plenty of cabbage weed on the ocean rocks but they are taking river weed too . Salmon are still plentiful around the headlands trolling minnow lures.

Sydney Harbour - Offshore - Stuart Reid
The kings are pretty reliable offshore taking livies and jigs . If the wind is too strong there’s salmon at play in the Harbour and the blackfish are very hungry.

Sydney Lure Fishing - Justin Duggan
Good sized Mack Tuna have been a thrill for light tackle enthusiasts and fly anglers this past few weeks. Fish in the 3-8 kg range have been common. These fish are flighty, very fussy and require precise casts... hence the fun.

There are not a lot of snapper off the rocks but the fish caught are of good quality. Distance casting to the sand/gravel edge past the reef and snags. Salted slimy mackerel and squid strips being the best the bait. The afternoon tides coming up will be great for rock blackfish AKA black drummer, luderick and snapper fishing off the rocks.
A reminder - Always check the weather report before fishing the ocean rocks and stay safe. All beaches in the Northern Beaches are required to wear a lifejacket when fishing.
