After the recent wind and rain it's churned up our waterways and for the better. The beaches have some great gutters, the fish on our inshore reefs are feasting on all the broken shellfish and urchins from the recent swells and toothy critters like hairtail are visiting the estuaries.
Sydney Harbour - Craig McGill
Lots of big flathead around on the mud bottom in deep water and smaller ones on lures around the moorings. Also still a lot of small bonito and a few rat kings around too.

Sydney Offshore - Fishing Station
Yellowfin tuna have been caught on stickbaits fishing wide off Sydney, just past the shelf. We don't want to jinx it but its shaping up to be an awesome tuna season! Fishing in closer to shore there have been good catches of bigger sized snapper. Early morning is prime time with the fish going off the bite once the sun comes up over the horizon.

It’s been an amazing fortnight in between the rain and big swell. We have been amongst the thick of it with hairtail in epic numbers taking fly and lure including surface bites! Daiwa Bait junkie 3.95 flicks and deceiver flies being far more effective than bait in my opinion!
We encountered some beautiful longtails this week way up in harbour sheltered waters, one bite was all we got , boat traffic drives these fish into a true panic so we were lucky to get that. Harbour baitball have seen us into frigates, bonito, bug tailor and a bunch of kings on fly and lure. Look for anchovy flies and lures like surf candies or the ever reliable bait junkie flicks.
