Sydney, in particular, the Hawkesbury has seen large numbers of hairtail being caught on lure and bait. These gnarly looking creatures are very sporadic so it's cool to see them in local waters! Large kings are still hanging around the harbour and the beaches are producing plenty of tasty whiting.

Still a few good kingfish about and the best baits are fresh squid of which there are plenty on the deeper kelp beds at the moment. A few nice amberjack and bonito in middle harbour and some good flatties on the lower harbour

Sydney Harbour - Stuart Reid
Trout in Tasmania are easier at the moment than the mahi off Sydney . Tiny mahi at the few fads that are left not worth the fuel cost . Close in water is a terrible colour but is holding kings

Sydney Harbour and Pittwater - Justin Duggan
Image and report - Sydney Fly Fishing ToursWe continue to catch plenty of hairtail on fly and lure along with the ever aggressive mullet, yep, that’s correct! Spawning mullet eat lures and fly.
The harbour still has baitballs with some thumper Mack tuna showing up yesterday and a nice meter plus kingfish trailing our bonito around. This is a great time of year for weather and good fishing

Southwest Rocks - Vic Levett
Image and report - Ocean Hunter Sports FishingWater is starting to cool. Spotties , Spanish and Longtail offshore. Plenty of small whaler sharks on offer. River fishing well for flathead and the odd Jack

Beach and Rock Fishing - Alex Bellissimo
Bellissimo Rock Beach Fishing GuideSome beaches producing whiting and others no so good. North Narrabeen, Warriewood and Avalon have some good whiting as well as flathead, tarwhine and some bream. Yabbies and beach worms the bait to choose.
Rocks producing snapper, bream and the start of the trevally run. And they will increase in numbers in coming weeks.
