Local Fishing Report - 12 September

Spring has sprung and we were welcomed with warm, sunny weather and the fishing is starting to heat up with big kingfish making their presence known in the harbour and offshore.

South West Rocks - Vic Levett

Things are starting to get back to normal after the excessive rains.
Kingfish can be found in the normal haunts but the sharks have been a real problem. Plenty of Snapper and Pearl Perch.

Sydney Harbour - Craig McGill

I'm holiday ATM fishing the Belinger River for bass primarily, but plenty of school jew and flathead getting in on the act too . Got this 91cm one on a 3.5 inch Nomad switcher shrimp and bass gear. Locals tell me the jewfish have been on fire lately.

Fishabout Charters - Sydney

Sydney Harbour - Offshore - Stuart Reid

I’ll avoid mentioning the weather! Offshore kings are great at the moment over a wide spread of locations . Bait is easily caught as long as you can avoid the pods of dolphins. The schools are on holiday soon and I’m running out of available weekdays so make that booking

Rock and Beach - Fishing

Plenty of big Australian salmon and tailor off the local beaches. Pilchards have been the bait of choice rigged on set of three 3/0 to 4/0  Curl Curl, South Palm beach are the top choices.

A reminder - Always check the weather report before fishing the ocean rocks and stay safe. All beaches in the Northern Beaches are required to wear a lifejacket when fishing.
