Fishing Report July 18

Fishing Report July 18

The weather is pretty cold but the fishing isn't! Northern NSW is providing big snapper and mulloway with plenty of big snapper being caught in Snapper Bash earlier this month. Sydney Harbour still holding big kings and the beaches and rocks are producing a mixed bag of whiting, tailor and more.

South West Rocks

Plenty of quality fish around the inshore reefs at present.Snapper, pearl Perch and tusk fish. Some great Mulloway on the offshore reef taking live bait and jigs

There have been heaps of Bonito around the lower harbour headlands . Try trolling diving minnows early morning or late afternoon. There are still quite a few jewfish around in middle harbour.

Very busy school holidays with lots of happy kids both in the morning and afternoon .
Slimies are the preferred bait and may take some finding .Hopefully with the school holidays finishing up, Seamus and I can go get a yellowfin!

If you think the whiting are not biting think again! beaches producing whiting up to 35cm from Manly, Collaroy and Palm Beach. Beach worms and yabbies being the best bait.
Off the rocks using the Infeet Metal Vibe is working great on the smaller kings, trevally and salmon. Also half pilchards, peeled prawns, squid. Bluefish, Dee Why, Turremetta head are working equally as well.

A reminder - Always check the weather report before fishing the ocean rocks and stay safe. All beaches in the Northern Beaches are required to wear a lifejacket when fishing.
