For most of last week the weather was awesome for fishing with the harbour, Pittwater, offshore and the beaches/rocks all providing fish. Now with the rain and the swell it may tell a different story however, the good weather is just around the corner and the fish should be hungry!
Sydney Offshore
Tuna have are still showing their presence with a number of small and XL fish being caught. Profidgies and deep divers are doing the damage. Fingers crossed the swell and winds subside quickly to allow for more fishing!

Mulloway have been on fire lately around the mid reaches of the harbour and middle harbour . They prefer squid or cuttlefish baits but will also take yakkas and other live baits. Bonito are still on the chew and taking trolled lures and big live yakkas.

Prior to the weather unleashing carnage the fishing was good . The kingfish as still moving around a lot maybe as a result of the unsettled weather . You’ll need to be prepared to try different areas and techniques to get results.

What to expect after the big swell? Off the ocean rocks- For a start snapper will be in closer feeding on the abundance of food. Rock blackfish(aka black drummer) will be doing the same. Try Long Reef Collaroy low tide period to 2-3 hour of run in. And when the seas really flatten off go for a squid fish with the new Emeraldas Joint 👏 South Curl Curl.
A reminder - Always check the weather report before fishing the ocean rocks and stay safe. All beaches in the Northern Beaches are required to wear a lifejacket when fishing.
