Line & Tackle

Once you have your rod and reel combinations sorted, the next thing is to understand and explore your fishing line and tackle options. These are as wide and varied as fishing is itself. Line can be broken down into a number of options, for both mainline and leader. The best option for your application will be determined by factors such as target species, fishing style and area, and of course budget.

Tackle is a universal term for the bulk of your fishing pieces outside of your main rod and reel set up, and the fishing line that is on your reel. It can be everything from hook, swivel and sinker, to de-hooking tool, tackle storage boxes or filleting knives. Think of it as anything you would take with you fishing in your pack for the session (including the pack or box itself).
